To the right on the web page is a talk I have given on Richard Weaver and the gospel. I have had a long-time interest in the thought of Richard Weaver. Like many persons, somewhere along the way I discovered his book Ideas Have Consequences, . . .
and Weaver has been an ongoing source of insight ever since. To the right on the web page I have uploaded a talk I have given called, "Richard Weaver, the Gospel, and the Restoration of Culture" (title shortened a bit under "Audio Selections"). In this talk I note that Weaver repeatedly and consistenlty utilized various Christian themes in his own attempt to lay the groundwork for the restoration of a meaningful culture. Indeed, I argue that these various Christian truths and realities serve as a type of necessary substructure for, or precondition of, Weaver's own intellectual program. However, there is something missing in Weavers' use of Christian themes as well.
